It has been 35 years since I first saw Rocky Horror
And the movie is still being played, still filling theaters with people dressed in costumes based on their favorite on screen personality. To answer
the question, “Can you go home again”;
Maybe, but not if they altered your house to the point that little looks familiar. Of course the film is the same, and holds up quite well; it is the audience participation part that has changed
The “Props” aspect of the contribution, was diminished, no trowing of rice, our roll of Scott toilet-paper went unused. The participants language was far more graphic and less respectful of the film. The best way I can describe the difference is to say that they seemed to be yelling at the characters rather than with them. They were not “Contributing” to the film the film was “Contributing” to their antics, raising the question; “When do you cross the line separating funny from annoying?”
